The International Conference of Production Research (ICPR) took place from the 2nd to the 6th August in Manila, Philippines. About 280 participants from all over the world were attending this interesting event. The main theme of the conference was the Operational Excellence towards Sustainable Development goals through Industry 4.0. The special concepts discussed were Digitalization and Sustainability.
The conference was attended by Senior Lecturer Jorma Papinniemi from Lappeenranta University of Technology, giving a presentation of the paper “[download id=”1010″]” (paper 1095 by Hannola, Lampela, Kutvonen, Papinniemi). The presentation was given in the “Production Systems and Management” session.
Keynote speeches related to the Insights of the Future of Manufacturing Business were held by Prof. Hans-Jörg Bullinger, Fraunhofer Institute, Stuttgart titled “Production of the Future: Staying Competitive with Digitalization” and Prof. Wilhelm Bauer, Fraunhofer Institute, Stuttgart titled “IT Fiction Meets Shopfloor Reality”.
